All Treasure Hunting

That's how our system works at it's best.

- Detectorist finds coin hoard while legally searching with landowner permission.
- Proper declaration made to Portable Antiquities Scheme so the hoard can be properly documented.
- Determined to be "Treasure" at inquest, but British Museum declines its option to purchase and pay reward.
- Ownership passes to finder and landowner, who elect to auction the finds.
- Auction proceeds to be split between finder and landowner.

Everyone happy!

You couldn't ask for a better SMART way.
Too bad our system is still run by horses (or jack arses) with blinders on.

One day the U.S. will grow a brain....... I hope.

Great story. Too bad our greedy government doesn't set up a system like the UK has.
