Shepherd Mountain is a summit in Iron County in the U.S. state of Missouri.
Shepherd Mountain lies just west of Ironton and Stouts Creek in the Arcadia Valley

I was just reading an account very similar to your article on Shepherd Mountain. I came across this while researching Surname Shepherd in Jefferson Co MO.

Interesting. So is the last name Grady or Golding. The second article also misspells Shepherd. Probably worth checking out the hiking trail and keeping an eye open for anything interesting. If anything it's probably worth the hike just to enjoy the scenery.
