✅ SOLVED Iron Hook with Flat Bar

Anyone know what this is? I found it in Gettysburg many years ago on a private farm on the battlefield.

This pictures suggests it is a gun part. If it is, my only guess is a musket sling hook but I am not convinced of that. Why make a sling hook with a flat bar instead of round. It is definitely hand forged.

Here are some pics .. A lot of time these are misidentified as Civil War hoof picks, but they are not.
