✅ SOLVED Iron something or other...

Hit a horse pasture today where there's very few big iron hits, other than horseshoes of course, and found this piece. It's 7-3/8" long and 3" wide at the 'ears'. Anyone come across this before??

When I dug an unknown object, and it turned out to be a part or "piece" of something larger, I always liked to get to see my find as it was on the complete object. So, "doing unto others," here are some photos showing your sickle-bar mower tooth guard in-place on the sickle-bar mower. By the way, the name makes it sound like it's a type of lawn mower, but as the photos show it is quite different, used on farms for harvesting and hay-mowing.

Your find guards the actual shark-tooth-shaped mower blades, and it channels the stalks of whatever is being mowed into the blade teeth.

Red James Cash was technically correct, it is a "farm implement tooth," but that's a very broad identification. Now you know EXACTLY what your find is, what it was part of, and how it was used.
