iron sword pommel?

Hi there! I found this in an old Western PA park yesterday. It is very solid, heavy, and looks cast iron. It has the exact same engravings/decorations are on both sides. Could it be a sword pommel? I thought this because if you look at the pic of it in my hand it looks the one side (with the dark spot) was connected to something (?). Maybe just a bad spot? Too big to be a token right?

I put it next to a quarter and Ike for size reference. I took a pic of a side view so you can see how it is rounded out in the middle.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Dagger or sword pommel, i would say. Maybe there was role playing at the park, or an reenactment of some sort of battle.
