Is it a bullet? Is it something else? What the heck is it?

I found this metal detecting. Not really sure what it is. It appears to be lead. Has grooves in the rings that seem like rifling marks but not sure. Also hollow about half way through. There is also a 6 (or 9) stamped on the nose. If it’s a bullet it’s not like any I have seen. But just can’t imagine what else it could be.

It looks to have rifling. Would help to be a little more precise.

I need to get a caliper to measure the exact diameter. It is just over .50 I’ll try to get a better measurement.

Something tells me it isn't a bullet. But it is from another machine of old! The answer could be in Kentucky, says my Spydee Sense

Do I have to travel to KY and find someone to ask? Lol can you tell me what machine you think it is from?

Lead anchors don’t typically have threads. Just some feature in the middle that provides some meat to grab. Could be a huge caliber bullet, but I’d expect more rifling grooves.

I like the end anchor idea. They were very popular
