Wife bought this a few days ago at a thrift store. At check out they were having second thoughts about letting it go for $2.00.I don't think its real, but my wife does. So whats the verdict ?

I would not certainly not the diamonds. But I test everything. I’ve been wrong before.

Need much better pictures. Show the back. Are there any markings?

i would test it, it is dog ugly but I have seen them real before and not fake. The exact one.

Most times "their" back will look like this. But not always.
Buy 1 oz Credit Suisse .9999 Gold Bars Online l JM Bullion?

I would still test it, the 5 gram ones like this start at 2500 CHF. Very common with the import car folk in Switzerland. 2.5, 5, 10 and full Oz I have seen. Some of the higher end ones have this border, especially the ear rings. Those kids when they go race another club they will put these on the line sometimes.

So I did an image search of credit Suisse 5g gold bars, and I believe yours is a gold plated bling item, all one piece. The bar should be mounted in that bezel.

Yeah I agree, did not see that back picture before. It does not look real, and I do not see how it opens up like a normal does.

I have seen these costume replicas many times since the late 70's. I suspect very highly it is not real gold or diamonds. It should be very easy to confirm this.

I doubt that it is the real McCoy (sp), but check the chain for markings.
