Had a hour before I had to take ol'girl to visit folks in Sedalia so I thought I would run down to the new creek. I have not found owner yet to get permission so I stayed right on the road and didnt venture to far. I found this right before I left and forgot to take my camera with me, the picture of the creek is from last week when I came down to check it out. The creek is only 4 miles from the house. I dont know if this is a scraper or not. It looks like it has been worked on the one end. I will let you all tell me, also the circle on top I cant figure if thats natural or scratched out. What type of stone is this? I hope someone can respond on it, sure would be a nice sign if its a artifact. Thanks to all and I wish you all a lot of luck.. JYD.

Looks like a natural piece of beat-up river cobble.

I find natural rock in the creeks that have the same chipping on them. I think it is caused by the natural rock rolling, and tumbling down the creek when they are rolling hard. I think it is a natural creek tumbled rock. Jmo. Keep looking JYD. that creek looks good to me, you just got to sniff them out, and find the hot spots. Remember to always look at the banks also. I have found some real goodies hanging out of the sides. Good luck. John

Keep looking if the creek can make them you know the ancients could too. Just a matter of time till you post a killer. hh

man thats an odd bridge? :icon_scratch:

Low water bridge, they're all over the place here too. They put them over small, shallow creeks. When it rains much, the water runs over the top.
