I bought an SE upper shaft to use for a 8" coil, XS lower shaft, combo to save time and aggravation when changing coils.

The XS lower shaft was VERY tight in the SE upper shaft but it would slide freely in the II's upper shaft.

I think that they have reduced the ID slightly so the black carbon fiber lower shaft fits more snugly.

I have a sunray probe for the ex II (attached to upper shaft) and it fits my SE fine... so i guess that answers that
