Is there a big difference between a 5'x10" Scorcher & the 10"x14" DD coils

Are these 2 coils both DD or is the 5"x10" scorcher something else?
Also would like to know if anyone has searched for gold using either or both, which better and why.
I read some where that the 10x 14 DD coil is better in moderate - highly mineralized area's(hot rocks).
The 5"x10" is used up to a med. mineralized area, but good for small nuggets! Or is this wrong thinking?

I know there are specialized DT's for gold, but I chose the GTI 2500 because I live in farm country
with many old barns, homes, parks etc... but this summer I'm heading to Yukon for Gold and possibly old relics, coin. I figure this DT would be good all round DT.
Any more info or advice on the coil would help, maybe I should buy both and the Treasure Hound :-\

Thanks from Northern Canada.

I have three coils, the standard 10" imaging coil, the 14" imaging coil and the 4 1/2" Stinger. The stinger is not an imaging coil. I would think the Stinger would be ideal for getting down into crevices and among the rocks gold hunting? I am not familiar with those other coils. I don't much like the 14" coil as it is heavy and throws the detector off balance and hard to use for me anyway. It is supposed to go deeper but I haven't used it enough to find out? Monty

Hi Monty,
I'm going to take Willy's advice to use the 5"x10" scorcher for small nuggets, the 12.5" imaging coil I will try around the old cabin on a buddies claim in the Yukon(other post), also will try the 9.5" coil when get to Dawson City Yukon. I've been to Dawson a could of times and have been itching to detect in a few area's around town. Will also be checking on the Heritage laws for detecting around the old building in town, the river bank is a must.

My gold fever is increasing in Northern Alberta Canada. ::) :o ;D
