Is there any responsible way to drink and drive on atv

So is there anyway to drink and drive on an atv? I know that question answers itself but who all does it? I don't mean on city streets or in public but like backroading, through the woods, on private property and other areas? Plus who has ever detected while sipping on some cool ones? Never done it but imagine I would probably concentrate a lot more. Jeff Gordon go ahead and throw in some input sir!!!

Really? You have to ask this? What you do on your own property Is your own business, what you do everywhere else becomes a issue. I don't think a game warden would see the humor in your drinking in the backwoods...

What is see as an issue is on public roads and county roads. I've chased many kids and adults on atvs down the county roads. I would suspect if it was on private land and you were out putting around then no harm no foul but not everyone is the same either. Some guys can have a few beers and drive perfectly normal backwoods and then you get others who are ten foot tall and bullet proof and wanna act like Jeremy McGrath on a 800 pound 4WD.

First of all let's get some basic things done first. I have experience in this arena and a lot of it. Now I MUST mention I live IN THE WOODS. I have miles of trails all over with no homes anywhere close to me. So this is the only place I ATV. So with that said here's what ya do first.

1. Mount a good can or bottle holder near the front of the ATV on the opposite side of the throttle. An insulated one is recommended for the advanced driver.
2. On the back rack on one side make sure your cooler is completely iced down and strapped on good. You do NOT want to lose this cargo or have it rattling around back there shaking the brew.
3. On the back rack on the other side of the iced down cooler you must mount a box for the cans/bottles. The advanced driver will need a lock down lid to hold up to 12 containers so not to lose.

I highly suggest you start out with a 3 beer setup without sharing either. Then as you gain experience work your way up the a 6-pack setup. Then after several years up to a 12-pack + setup but this takes time. Please be patient. After many years of experience you'll work your way up to full size cooler to hold enough for a 2 day outing including food and an overnight camping experience with a buddy. But this setup takes teamwork with an experience buddy ONLY....

Yea I only had the 12 pack and a small cooler. Went out on great grandmas property and explored some yesterday looking for some bluff shelters

It really doesn't matter if you're on private property or not if something goes wrong. If you wreck while drinking you're a drunk driver whether you're on grandma's property or not. If someone gets hurt as a result of the wreck, you're in deep do-do. If you carry a gun for protection and you have to shoot to protect yourself, having alcohol in your system will get you in big trouble. I would guess that, if you head out for an afternoon of atving and you are carrying more than 2 beers, you're asking for trouble. ATV's can be dangerous enough without adding alcohol to the mix.

Yes you can. Majority of state laws no longer consider if it was public highway or private property. They now look at was defendant operating a vehicle while under the influence in said state..

People have been arrested in their own driveway, passed out drunk, vehicle in park, engine off but they were still behind the wheel..

That's why when I have a fight with my wife and sleep in the car I always sleep on the passenger side.
