Some of the fountain pools going into the casinos,I hear are pretty good!

Well this is the desert ;D

Actually, if you wanna detect near water, check out Tempe Town Lake. Tons of people there. Lake Havasu would be good, as would along some of the rivers in Sedona. Hikers up there a lot :)

Thanks djui5,

I should have been more specific, freshwater beaches.

I have heard during spring break, Havasu gets tons of people.

Since I'll be in the area,I'd like to give it a shot.I was not aware of Tempe Town Lake...thanks.

Do you know of any restrictions against water detectors at either of these two locations?

I was not sure if I had to go to west coast or sea of cortez (rocky point etc.)for a post spring break hunt.

warsawdaddy,

I would imagine their much better than the ones coming out of the place.

Thanks for the info and the chuckles guys,

Ron

I don't detect, so I'm not sure about laws. I'm a treasure hunter/miner (in my off time).

Generally speaking!
All minerals, treasure, etc, in Mexico, Belong to MEXICO!
So!
If you got the urge to spend time in a Mexican Prison, :-\ JUST! cross the border with a
METAL DETECTOR!
Oh!
You don't have to use it!
Just having one with is more than enough!
You See In MEXICO ...
You Are GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT!

Just! Try and prove that you weren't going to use it! ::)

Thanks Cptbil,

Did not know that, doesn't sound like fun at all.

I am stayin' in the USA, I see there are a ton a lakes in AZ, even the Salt river (where they raft).

Along the Colorado also. So I think I've found enough places to keep me busy.

I'm goning to wait til it warms up a bit,39 last night here in Buckeye.

Thanks Again,

Ron

Ron:
Since you are going to be just sitting around, waitting for the weather to improve, and you have some extra time?
Why not swing by The (DownTown) Main Phoenix Library, just off Central Ave.
Go up to the "Local History" Section and check out, "Morman Lake"!
You should come across a story of some outlaws who hid a cache of gold coins in the lake!
The "Cache" would be worth a small fortune as "collector" coins Now! ;D
Heck!
The lake should only be ankle deep now!

Thanks ptbil,

I've never been to that library, sounds like a plan.

That should keep me out of trouble for a while.

Merry Christmas,
Ron

Went metal detecting at Apache Lake this past Tuesday. Finds included cans..cans..cans..cans..pop tops..cans..one quarter..cans..cans..fishing lure..cans..lead weight..cans..cans..lead..cans..cans..pop top..cans..Colorado belt buckle..cans..cans..pop top. This consisted of two areas the first was at the boat ramp; then next to some camp sites. Not productive I would say. >:(

Hi 49'er,

Sorry to hear about all the junk,I've heard the salt river is supposed to be better, they say above the Bridge.

You must get a use pass for $6.00 a day to be legal.

I went out to an old school ground (school gone) today.1 dime 7 pennies was all the site gave up,way too much trash there also.

Good Luck,
Ron
