Is this a error dollar?

I got this dollar today in my change for a cheeseburger I bought. Is it a error or just an abused bill. The only reason I ask is because a few of the details are still dark and the back looks normal.

I've seen some dollars that washed up on the beach, and they looked similar to that. They had a rough feeling to them from the salt water. Yours looks like it could have suffered the same fate.

A few years ago I found a $5 bill outside, one side was almost non existant and the back was normal.
I was sun bleached for god knows how long. I think thats what you have there.
