Is this a marble?

Sorry but if this is a marble it is the ugliest one I've ever seen. Found it in the dump. Maybe I will throw it back in there. Is it a marble or something else and are these the "natural colors"? this second photo is to show the size.. Thanks for looking.

Could be an old clay shooter (marble). Older cheap marbles were made of clay.

large older clay marbles are some what collectible --If you do not want it please send it to me...

I find a lot if older marbles that look like they were made of brick. .yours looks like a damaged hand painted marble imho

Clay marbles unless glazed have very little value even though they date back to the 1800's and earlier they are so common that they carry little value.

Glazed Bennington marbles are worth about $0.25 - $5.00.

P.S. I LOVE that jar you have the marbles in, what does that say?

I dug this from a dump. I found the base on one dig and found the lid on another! Good condition. Not an extremely rare pot but extremely cool!

Yeah I'm digging that crock too..nice! I use old mason/ball jars to hold the marbles and over abundance of glass buttons.
