Is this a old Bullet!!!! What year

I found thia nice little guy in a creek today. One of the few things that i could dig. Big rocks are hard to dig through. I was picking up a lot of good tones at around 8 inches, just could not make it that deep. But i pretty happy about what i think i found. What are your thoughts

Looks like either a 9mm or a .380 full metal jacketed pistol round. Early 1900's through today as far as age goes.

Thanks for the input, it does resemble a lot of different ammo from Affinity4Dirt's link. Looks like they pretty much have them all listed. I have yet to try to clean it other than just with water, but after closer examination, it does look to have a copper casing and it has definitely not been fired yet!

Myself knowing pretty much the size of a human finger, I would guess that to be .45 caliber and it has no grease or crimping groves I would say it's a .45 acp which requires only a taper crimp versus a heavier roll crimp of a revolver. So if it is a .45 vs. 9mm vs .40 cal than the date would be anywhere from around 1911 to the recent past.

Bullets should always be measured near the base with a micrometer to determine caliber, I.e.: 9mm= .355 in., .40 S&W= .401 in. and .45 cal cap usually .4515-.452in. Hope this helps. I believe you have a full metal jacket bullet there.
