Not sure more than 1 pic would help like on the use end. Where you been? You finding anything with that MD in the background?
 
found a hand full of pennies and a coin ring and a 1943 2 francs coin yesterday

Looks to be a flaking tool or hammer to me.

You know it could also be a small pestle for grinding herbs also by looking at the use end.
 
You can see battering wear on both ends of a stone nicely shaped for use as a small hammerstone. Nice find!
 
The wear on the ends tells it was made by impacts to other stone with a forceful blow, JMO I think it is small hammer stone/flint knapping tool. pecking stone have a much more even surface, Cool find:thumbsup:
