✅ SOLVED Is this a piece of a fireplace grate?

This ferrous artifact weighing in at 2 pounds & 4 ounces was found at a cabin site where other things found previously date between the mid-1700s and about 1880. My first thought was that it is a piece of a fireplace grate. If it can be IDed and dated, I'll clean & preserve it, then donate it to the local historical society in an education display case similar to the one shown. Thanks

ould have been a section of iron fencing or a fireplace andiron.

Given it is solid and doing more research, I'll go w/ a 19th c andiron and mark it SOLVED! Thanks Oldrvrrat57!

Plan to head back to the site Wednesday, so maybe I'll find the rest of the wing or even the other eagle...
