Rainbow quartz is nothing more than treated natural quartz:

So, the answer is it could be. If you treated it with chemicals in a vacuum chamber.

I found this, only cleaned with dishwashing soap and water.
So if there is no such thing as a rainbow quartz naturally, what could it be?

Maybe smoky quartz, but I pretty much agree with
