I'm hoping someone could tell me if this is a rare 12 Star Confederate Navy button...
I'm just can't figure this site out... Took me 2 hours to try and figure out how to add these pictures. Anyway, the back is blank unmarked. I will truly appreciate any help. Thanks!

According to all the books on civil war military buttons, there was no brass or copper 2-piece Confederate Navy button showing an eagle sitting on an anchor. Tice's book shows a 1-piece cast pewter/lead/solder version, but neither Mr. Tice nor anybody else is sure it is Confederate-made, nor sure about its time-period.

The "weak detail" of your button's emblem, and having an iron back, means it is a crude imitation of US navy button that was made for use on civilian coats, such as a navy-lookalike "Pea Coat."
