I found this button while digging around in my parent's back yard. Is it Revolutionary war? Back is solid, looks to be brass. Is it British Navy? Any help would be appreciated. I've been looking for hours!!

Looks way too recent in my eyes to be 18th century, but I ain't no button expert.

Hi; Nope. It is Modern. It is a 2 Piece Button which came into being about 1820. Before that was the 1 Piece Button. Yours is most likely WW1 - WW2. Iron Patch can help you even more ok. PEACE:RONB

The self shank design would lead me to think it is more likely a fashion button than military... It's not U.S. anyway, but there's some sharp British folks here who could say for sure if it's from over there.
