Incredible! It does look like the dire wolf canine pics I've seen, but the only way to be certain would be to take it to a professional

So i've gotten responses about these images from about 24 different universities across the U.S., Museums of Natural Science and History, paleontologist, online experts and sellers for their opinions about this canine...and it's a mixed bag...but all agree on the age of 10,000 to 12,000 years old. It's been identified as: Giant short faced bear (Arctodus Simus and Arctodus Pristinus), very large black bear, large Grizzly, ice age cave bear, record large Jaguar, Sabertooth cat, American Lion, and Dire Wolf. It's a pretty cool find, but there's no way I can label the container I have it in just yet. I think I will have to take it in somewhere for someone to see it up close and compare so I can get a positive ID.

Ice Age, nice! Imagine that creature may have once interacted with our distant ancestor - I believe that would have been the "Clovis" people who lived at that time.

Whatever it came from, it is a super great find! Congratulations! What a great Christmas gift!
