Is this an ancient ring?

Hello guys!
I have found this ring in an ancient fortress-city in Italy called Tuscania. When i had found it, it was full of oxide and dirt and soil... it was like 0.5cm thick. I cleaned it as much as i could and it broke (because i’m stupid).
I was wondering whether or not it’s an actual ancient ring, hundreds of years old. I don’t know where else to look for identification!

no its not "ancient". Thats a modern solder joint at one of the breaks

That material wasn’t only in that place, there were several parts covered in it
