I was very happy with my last hunt on an old Union camp site. It is a little know site that is on a friend's property in southern Mississippi. I found 18 minies and very little trash. I have only hunted a few small areas and it may take me 40 or 50 trips to cover it all.
Well I got home from work today and as always my wonderful girl friend puts whatever was left in my pockets after a washing on top of my dryer. For some reason I walked through the laundry room this afternoon and saw this on top of the dryer. I picked it up and wondered what is that?

It looks like a heart shaped rock that has lead melted around the edges. I am guessing a soldier was sitting around camp making this for a loved one and dropped or lost it before he got to give it to them. What do yall think?

I'm assuming that's made out of lead and appears to be heart shaped.....a lot of soldier used the make items from spent lead to pass the time so it may very well be.

That's what I'm thinking Bill, but the center is rock with lead outer edge on it. Thanks for the reply.

Maybe it is what I call fire lead. Just a pc of lead that got throne in the fire and melted to the rock. The heart shape could just be coincidence. Just a guess
