No, that's a die chip. Cuds are connected to the rim.
 

I keep all wheaties. Die chips were common during that time.
 

The reason I asked is because I had the opportunity to buy it for practically nothing.
 

I would have passed. You could get wheaties for a penny coin roll hunting, depending on how lucky you are!
 

I do get lucky, usually about 15 a week, I Just liked that it was different.

I am sorry but you paid about forty five cents more than you should have! You can purchase rolls of common date Wheat Cents for anywhere from $2.50 to $3.50 a roll and sometimes even cheaper and most rolls will contain several and sometimes many more Wheat Cents that have Die Chips or other problems/errors on them. Die Chips are generally too common to warrant any real premium except on truly Mint State Red uncirculated Wheat Cents.
