Is this gold?? Er what?? Is it?

I would love yaalls feedback. This is shiny, gold colored..how can u tell if its gold?

The shiny black stuff is mica, but hard to tell with the shiny gold stuff. Take a magnifying glass and look. Square looking crystals, pyrite. If not, chip a piece out and if it's soft, it's gold. There are several other tests and I will let the others explain them.

It looks like pyrite to me. Gold is usually more yellow, altho there could be minute amounts of gold in it, I would post it in the gold forums, they are very knowledgeable.

Quartz, mica and Fe staining.

Quartz, rose quartz, muscovite, and appears to be pyrite. Gold will dent with a needle and pyrite with break off, very brittle.
