Is this knob old and how do I tell?

Found this knob today, it is very light so I kinda think its aluminium. Just wondering if its old or can go on the junk pile

Reminds me of the old push pull dash knobs. Maybe from the 50's, 60's ?

I would agree. Junk pile. Possibly old but not worth anything
