thanks for looking ???
the larger pieces were from various places, including a buried trash area, but the small pieces (probably 5-7mm in diam) came out of one hole in my grandmother's backyard, 8-10 inches down, and the whole area was active during the Revolutionary War (about 7 miles outside of Boston). If not, what could it be?
TIA,
Lara

ark,
I think you're right about the larger pieces, like I said, they were in a semi-dump (where they apparently put the garbage cans in the far corner of the backyard). But the others were in the middle of the yard, and the house next door (probably 50 ft to its back door from where I found them) was the first house built in the vicinity, and there's no evidence of other trash in the immediate area, so I dunno...
thanks!
Lara
