A hole goes through it. The bottom looks like it could hold a cork maybe. Perfume bottle?

I know. It isn't a bell though. Doesn't ring.

Seen similar bottle spouts but they always had a part that plugs the hole so something is missing or maybe its something totally different. Is it brass?

It does seem to be brass. It cleaned up decently. Found in a wooded area alone. Someone on another site posted one that was less bell shaped and had straighter sides, but they were the same type of object. Here is a picture of his:

And a picture of mine cleaner:

Not sure if the following items will help or hinder. Both look similar to what is already pictured. One of mine is obviously a top from a cologne bottle. The other is quite distorted and when dug had some iron deposit (rust) lodged in the small hole in the top. Possibly a iron ring?? The bottom looks to have been crimped onto something at one time. Both items came from a area inhabited from 1850-1920.

Sure helps..Tue item on the left looks very similar - is that a bottle spout do you think? Thanks

What about a friction-fit grease fitting? That is, a bearing cap with a grease nipple. Perhaps there was a ball and spring internal closure that was lost. Just a guess.

I don't know, the hole is only about 2mm. Is there a picture of one of a similar age? What would it be to?

My best guess I'd say it's an early pull knob that was at the end of a curtain draw string, or maybe a fancy pull knob for an early expensive desk lamp.
