Is this Sphalerite? What's it worth?

I am new to collecting due to making a friend that owns a giant hole in the ground... wondering what my finds are worth....thanks.
Found this on the ground...it weighs 1oz.1.29 grams.

That looks like pyrite.

Sphalerite is soft and smells like sulphur, among other characteristics.

It is iron pyrite-costs about a buck at a rock shop in that size.
