I bought this beauty a while back. Is it worth getting graded?

I was considering getting the $2.50 and the $20 graded to possibly trade for a $20 Coronet head. Problem is I think that $2.50 is a very high grade, theres absolutely no blemishing on and it looks uncirculated. I believe they were thrown in a case around 1960, I dont think they are proof, but they havent been touched for a very long time. I spent $1000 on the set
Not sure where these numbers came from, but you still have a couple grand worth anyway. Beautiful coins!!!!!!!djui5 said:insulator245 said:The $20 is a 1924, The $10 is a 1901, the $5 is a 1900, the $2.50 is a 1903, and the $1 is a 1874. Well, I don't know what the set itself it worth, but the coins individually are worth quite a bit. Each one should be worth more than you paid for the set, unless in VF or worse condition, which I highly doubt is going to happen. The $1, in MS63 state is worth $13,000. Even if it gets an AU grading it could be worth $4,000-$5,000 or so, who knows. If you could get that graded MS60, it could be worth $8,000 or more.
I'd think it would be best to send the coins off to be individually graded, then you'll know what they're worth. The only reservation I have is finding out what the set itself is worth, with them all together. It doesn't seem to be a "traditional" set, so I'm thinking someone just picked some good coins and threw them together.
I'd probably wind up just having them individually graded and slabbed myself. Either way, you've got some really nice coins there.
