Naaa, don't bother, but I will give you the $20 it's listed out of the goodness of my heart, ;D

Nice coin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it is. I had replied on your other thread...
What years are they all? What year did they slab all of them in that case? That little plaque could be worth a ton of money...thousands, especially if those are proofs..., you're talking a lot of $$$. I'll take the whole thing for $50 if you'd like :o kidding, kidding...

It would be worth slabbing if you ever intend to sell it. That way there would be no doubt of its condition and validity. If you just like to enjoy them then who cares... Save the grading fees to invest in another valuable beauty!!!!!

The $20 is a 1924, The $10 is a 1901, the $5 is a 1900, the $2.50 is a 1903, and the $1 is a 1874. I was considering getting the $2.50 and the $20 graded to possibly trade for a $20 Coronet head. Problem is I think that $2.50 is a very high grade, theres absolutely no blemishing on and it looks uncirculated. I believe they were thrown in a case around 1960, I dont think they are proof, but they havent been touched for a very long time. I spent $1000 on the set

If you ever intend to sell it, get it graded. From what I understand, slabbed coins appreciate more and the values are more stable than non-slabbed coins do. If I am wrong about it, please feel free to correct me.

if they were mine, i would get them slabbed. it would be well worth it in my opinion.

Professional grading/slabbing eliminates any doubt as to authenticity and condition. It will increase the value of the coin by far over the cost of the service.Compare similar coins slabbed and unslabbed on Ebay.....big diff.....Joe

Well, I don't know what the set itself it worth, but the coins individually are worth quite a bit. Each one should be worth more than you paid for the set, unless in VF or worse condition, which I highly doubt is going to happen. The $1, in MS63 state is worth $13,000. Even if it gets an AU grading it could be worth $4,000-$5,000 or so, who knows. If you could get that graded MS60, it could be worth $8,000 or more.

I'd think it would be best to send the coins off to be individually graded, then you'll know what they're worth. The only reservation I have is finding out what the set itself is worth, with them all together. It doesn't seem to be a "traditional" set, so I'm thinking someone just picked some good coins and threw them together.

I'd probably wind up just having them individually graded and slabbed myself. Either way, you've got some really nice coins there.
