I found my first 2013 half today in a box.
the mint started selling 2013 half in rolls and bags
on June 22. Just after 2 months they are showing up in boxes

Pretty neat. I also found one back on August 3rd. I still don't understand why the mint would make NIFC halves, why people would buy them, why people would then release them back into circulation after only a couple of weeks (I didn't know that they started selling them on June 22nd.

Pretty amazing.

I purchases several mint rolls of NIFC halves of varying years from a bank this year.

I wonder if they aren't doled out to some banks and if the banks have no use for them they put them into circulation.

I know the teller well that I got them from and it seems to me that she said the boss got them at some convention.

I've picked up 21 mint rolls of NIFCs this year and another 2001 mint roll. So far I've kept them because I feel bad bad dumping them, not because I think they have or will have value.

I bought 10 mint rolls from a Craigslist seller at face. Newest ones were 2010. Still looking for 2012 in rolls.

According to the Royal Canada mint website, you guys have halves minted every year too. Where do you find them?
