Heavy rain this morning, but it was 60 degrees outside. When the rain turned to drizzle this afternoon, I hit the woods. Only one good find in two hours of detecting, an 1873 Indian Head cent. Really crusty out of the ground, but it cleaned up nice with warm hydrogen peroxide. Still has a little crud on it ,but I'm going to leave it alone. Not a bad day for mid-December in Rhode Island!

Thanks, Jeff! I know, so close to the 1877! I'll be back there on Thursday when it's warm again. This was the same land trust where I found my 1824 capped bust half dollar, so you never know what's waiting in the next hole!
 

Beautiful. Love finding green IHs that look like that.
