Metal Detecting
Yesterday I got to metal detecting in the (finally) nice weather. I hit a couple of old spots without much luck. I was about to go home slightly disappointed, but I saw that a concrete area in front of an old general store had been tore up by workers. I still had my gear with me so I decided to give it a shot. I pulled a couple of wheat pennies out when I got a signal that was jumping all over the place from the seventies to nighties. I dug and saw a green coin pop out of the dirt. I was excited because the oldest thing I found today was a wheat penny. Just as I started to rub the coin, it started to pour rain. I decided to call it a day and go home. I went at the coin with a toothpick and pencil when I got home, and eventually found out what it was. It’s a 1903 v nickel! I’m really excited because this is my first one.
