Went out to a park today and got bored so i walked back to my car. On the way all of a sudden my Garrett went crazy. Started digging and found penny after penny after penny. After about fifty of them i started to feel strange. I looked up at the house across the street and this guy was laughing. :icon_scratch: Hey i said did you bury these coins out here? He replied yes i did so you would find them. OK it was kinna funny.:dontknow:

Banner find ?

Did you thank him?

I wish people would have done that years ago.

Now, that's funny.:occasion14: May have been in sympathy for previously watching you find junk.:laughing7:

While on vacation at the beach a few years ago we were working our way along around a board walk at a bar that stuck out on the beach. We starting finding quarters dimes, etc. and I looked up without moving my head and saw a row of people along the rail dropping coins down in the sand. They were watching us detect and recover them. The novelty wore off soon.

My wife did that to me...kinda. In the winter she dropped her change cup out of the car door in the snow. The following spring I hit the "motherload" of coins on the side of the new driveway. All clad, 99% zincolns....:BangHead:

Perfect opportunity to thank him and explain what it is really about (so he doesn't bury any more cents) and gain permission to do his yard.

My brother did something similar to me, but he threw zinc pennies around the surface of a yard he knew I would be hunting. At least I didn't have to dig mine!

Fun story, thanks for sharing! :icon_thumleft:

you should have yelled at him " good thing it wasn't silver dollars! they hurt my ears!"

Definitely not funny. Its why I prefer to hunt as far away from people as possible

as easy as it is to scoop sand, I would do it all evening

How much more can he drop for you....It gives you a chance to get the heart rate up

I vote banner...

We always had a group of people who would shower the water at the beach with tossed pennies.

Just me if I find pennies and they aren't old Ill dig a few but move on I just like old coins or silver
