Item with patent date. ID help please.

This is one of my girlfriends finds from today's hunt. I have no clue what it is but it has a patent date and some initials. Anyone have any insight on this item? Thanks in advance!

I know it isn't but ............... looks similar to tags that are attached to high dollar shrubs/plants from a nursery ... like roses etc.

I believe that is a logo of an 1800's sewing machine company. If you look at the painted logo on a sewing machine picture down the page at the website - link below, I believe the logo is nearly identical.

Looking close they appear different,not the same from what I see.
