Hmm,, looks cool,
Hex head bolt , looks to thin to be lead and not be bent and offset . could it be some kind of aluminum Guard ?

quick Google told me the first square head bolts were used around 1908 , still looking for more info.

Rotate pic #1 90 degrees to the right to give the star correct orientation.

It may be a bin (drawer) pull handle.
