It's a biggy!... with wheaties and silvers to boot!
It snowed like crazy last night! I couldn't believe it, had an inch of snow overnight. Then the sun shown itself this morning and it all melted away
My 2nd time out for 2011 and it didn't disapoint me any. Down the road from my house is my daughter's librarians 1875 Cobblestone house that I was granted permission to detect. Just as I began to leave it started a light rain but I figured I'd give it a shot and maybe the rain wouldn't be so bad. So out the door I went. When I got there the rain turned into a mist, then it went away
There are 4 or 5 big trees that line the road (they have a corner lot) and the one tree is huge! The roots were killing me and really tough to get thru and around. It wasn't any fun at all! But I managed and kept plucking away at it for 3hrs this afternoon. Ended up with 15 wheaties all 1940's era, a 1939 Merc, 1957 Rosie and a 1956-D Washington.
Also, a nice buckle or clip of some sort with a bust of a young woman on it with her hair all done up nice and a flower on her dress. Seems to be victorian and made of brass. Any ideas?
Here's some pics... Oh I'm not done detecting the old home yet, I've done about 1/3 of the yard, mostly front and one of the side yard near the big ole front porch.
