It's a Clad Clad Clad Clad World (plus some nice silver!)

Had a very fun weekend. Found a couple of spots that required a lot of digging, often with two targets per sweep. Very dense with clad, including MANY quarters. (I left all the mangled zincolns out of the picture.) There was also a 1942 Merc, an old key that I really like, one of those sterling double-ring rings and a huge 925 Aztec calendar ring, and an old Milk-Bone dog tag for a dog from Nantucket. (There must be a dirty limerick that begins, "There once was a pooch from Nantucket...") :laughing7:

Thanks for looking and HH!

awesome finds! now thats a boatload of clad, sweet merc & rings too

Ya know, I don't mind digging all that clad. Less boring than digging nothing. But, when you add just "ONE" silver coin to the mix. My day is made! Let alone a couple rings and other things. I like variety in my hunts. But, I REALLY miss finding a silver coin now and again. It's mostly my fault though.

I'm really just doing local haunts over and over. I KNOW most everything has been found. At least the easy ones. So, good hits (silver coins, etc) are VERY few and far between. But, I am ALWAYS trying to learn more and more about my machine. I've pretty well got it now and feel pretty confident that when I decide to research a new place, that I'll have the skills needed to do well. After all, this place has been POUNDED! Yet, I still find something almost every time out.

Excellent saves!

Good job!
HH!

Yeah, WHADIFIND, hope I didn't come off as complaining about all the digging. It's a treat. I like finding all that clad, too. It adds up, quicker than you think.

I'm in a similar place as you are with my machine. I'm still getting the hang of it and also return to the same spots again and again.

Nah, I read you right. I knew you were enjoying. :)

Here's a tip though. Don't JUST go back to any same place over and over and over and over again. Try to have 2 or 3 spots to go. It helps in the learning AND it doesn't arouse Mz. Bizzybody's suspicions seeing this guy in the field repeatedly. Somebody might yell the word "GOLD! and all of a sudden you have a rush on your hands! LOL Just watch the lake when one boat starts catching fish. LOL

Take care and good hunting!

Hey rastinirv nice Ton-O-Clad there !! Nice rings too sweet !

Looks like you had a great day! That Merc makes it an even greater day, looks like it hasn't seen a lot of pocket time.

Nice looking Rings!!

Roy

nice haul I hear ya about the clad (thus my name) still a lot of fun but the clad did pay for my 250 and still digging it to pay for the at pro one coin at a time lol HH!!

I can resist it no longer:
"There once was a pooch from Nantucket
Who carried his bones in Bucket,
No matter how he tried,It always hurt his pride....
Until one day he said Fu:censored:it"

Go easy on me

I think that is a very worthy addition to the literary canon.

Hey rastinirv!! Great Finds!! I'm sure you have already thought of it, but it would be interesting to call the phone number on the dog tag and see if they are still around!! Just a thought!! GOOD HUNTING!! VERDE!!

Enlarge the pic to see it sorry about the quality but they have a MD address too.

I don't want this poor guy to get a bunch of calls, but I just spoke to him. He doesn't live in Nantucket but just happened to be visiting his father's house. It was a very nice chat. He doesn't want the tag returned but said he's now got a good story to tell at dinner. Clyde, he told me, was a very good golden retriever who died about 20 years ago. The dog traveled with him between Bethesda, MD, and Nantucket, which explains why the tag was found here.

Nice...I'd never call wasn't my find! Have a good one.
