Looks like a lipstick tube with petrified lipstick

I disagree. I don't believe lipstick can become petrified. I think it is a broken parasol handle.

think Gopher may be correct - I found a pewter parrot on a tree trunk with wood sticking
out like yours - think it might be from like an old carnival prize parasol - the kind they
handed out for not guessing your weight - mine was found in water at a spot that I found
other pewter prize oddities and was site of 100 yr old amusement park on the water
