Hey Tnet! I know its been a while since my last post but you know how life goes. Family and I have moved and now we have to move again
I wont bore you with the details. Im glad winter is over and that I have been able to get into the woods for some frosty detecting. I've Been going over areas I detected and to those I haven't. This post is of my finds from yesterday and the previous 2 weeks.
Yesterday I had an hour to hunt before I saw Dream Theater in concert. It was an amazing show
I Pulled 7 bullets total, my first dropped large caliber musket ball which is .68 to .69 caliber (far right) and my second ever log wedge. I know this one is old because of the patina. It matched that of some 18th century axe heads I found not 100ft away from this wedge.
I measured the round ball at work with a caliper but had no scale so I don''t know what it weighs.. But any guess on age is welcome. I'm just glad to have it
Last weekend I found a long range muzzleloader round, a first for me. Its the big one second from the right. I did give it a good smack but accidents happen
It was 2 inches down at the base of a tree. I also picked the white 2 ring bullet first in line. Im thinking pistol round but that is just a guess, its very flat. Second one pictured is I think is a muzzleloader but again a guess and I have maybe 10 of these.
Any input on any of these rounds is welcome. I always love to learn about the history of firearms.

On the second hunt of this season I found this little silver surprise.. Rang up as a solid quarter on my ace 2 inches down. I kicked back the leaves and there it was right on the surface. I couldn't believe it.. Very happy to have it. I looked around for the rest but none to be found. The detail on the edge is well done. No makers marks. Im guessing from the early to mid 1900s? But hey silver smile none the less
I hope to be posting again soon but I wont make any promises.
Good luck to all and happy hunting.
