yes theres a little quartz on it. different spot than we went to, it is the same spot i found my very 1st piece ever. about 6 feet away. found two of the others in the same area, got the last one in a wash on the way out.

Have you tried to pan any of the dirt around that big one? I betcha there's a bit of fine gold

too late for that, i took 4 inches of the whole area in hopes of more, found a couple 5 grainers. it was a little flat high spot next to the creek/workings that was never worked, only about 15x20 ft. every target found was gold in that spot, i went through it pretty well with the fors and fors+ and still had only 1 4grain found on the top inch of soil. today i found a 5 grain 5 inches down. heard it in setting 3 and bumped it up to 4 and it was much clearer, bumped up to 5 and it was less noticeable, too much chatter.
