Hi Everyone, I thought I would start a CRH Log, just for fun, and I can look back at it and see what I found, I will start from my first box of half dollars, to my third one, since that is all I remember exactly what I found. I have done around $10,000 in a mix of dimes, nickels and pennies, I have found 12 silver dimes, 7 war nickels 4 buffalo nickels and around 300 wheat pennies (No indian heads or V nickels). I have not been collecting very long, only one year, since I am only 13. I have also found a pair of 1940 P and D uncirculated full steps coins in circulation, a 1917-D penny in an XF range, and a 1923 mercury silver dime.

Box 1 of halves: 1 90% Kennedy, 2 40% Kennedys

Box 2 of halves: 3 90% Kennedys, 2 40% Kennedys

Box 3 of halves: 11 40% Kennedys

Nice start...good luck!

Not bad at all... 38 silver coins by my count.

$30 in quarters- Skunked
$75 in dimes- Skunked
Box 1 of pennies- About a dozen wheats, one in an AU condition, nothing spectacular.
I have another box of pennies and $170 in nickels I will look through over the next few days, thanks for the support!

Box 2 of pennies- 13 wheat pennies, 2 of which were enders, enders were 1952D and 1956D, 1956D was in about an AU58. By the way I will tell you if I find any 30s or earliar ones, I have not found any though in the last 2 boxes. Going onto my nickels soon, :D.

Box 1 of nickels- 1943P war nickel, 1936 plain buffalo, 17 pre 1950 jefferson nickels, (I only keep 1950 and older), oldest being 1939. I still have $70 of nickels I will look through soon, hope you are having a good day, and happy hunting.

$70 in nickels- 1928 plain buffalo and 7 pre 1950 jeffersons, also 1 zinc penny, also I forgot to add that in box one I found 4 pennies, all zinc.

Sorry No Posts Recently, I have been busy, will CRH soon.

$4 in nickels- Skunk
Went to the bank today and got a box of dimes, nickels and pennies, looking forward to searching them, when I bought them, one of the tellers, who I do coins with a lot at this bank, they know me and I know them, asked if I looked for the silver coins, and I said yes, and they let me buy one 1968D silver kennedy, which I thought was very nice, and I look forward to going to this bank in the future.

Box 1 of dimes - Skunk
Also after looking at a 1965 nickel I found from the $4 Nickel CRH, I think it may be a proof from an SMS, thats my first one!

Jajo: being NEW to the hobby, you will find that what also is needed is: patience, time, up's & down's, any plenty of SKUNKS. However, what does come with this TN web site is all the help you need from fellow CRH'rs. Just listen to what they all have to say, and enjoy the hobby. It can be fun if you let it, it's the thrill of the hunt. Good luck young man, and hang in there.

My last two boxes of halves were 100% skunks. However the nice tellers got me 144 90% halves and 20 40% halves when I asked for a couple Ikes to give to a friend at another bank.
You never know. Earliest half was 1893 Columbian exposition and I got a total of 8 Barbers in the mix. Who would have thought.

DozerD and smokeythecat, thanks for the advice and support! :D

Box 3 of pennies- 14 wheat pennies, two of which were 1957D and 1946 enders

Box 1 of nickels- 1943P war nickel, 1936 plain buffalo, 17 pre 1950 jefferson nickels, (I only keep 1950 and older), oldest being 1939. I still have $70 of nickels I will look through soon, hope you are having a good day, and happy hunting.

Nice finds... I used to save just pre-60s, but now I save pre-64s... may start saving the 65,66,67 and mintmarked 68,69 and 70 coins too at some point, depending.

On a side note, you may want to save a few of the scarcer dates from after 1950... specifically 1951-S, 1955-P, and 1958-P as they're all low mintage and hard to find.

I have started saving pre 60s because my local coin shop buys them for 6 cents each, maybe in a few months I have enough extra to buy a silver dime.
Nickel Box 2- 9 pre 50s
Im not gonna say how many pre 60s I get, because I put them in a jar right away.

Hi CRHer's sorry no posts recently, but for some reason whenever I tried to click on my CRH log, it went to a blank page and I couldn't post so I have the last about a weeks coins ready to post, and here they are.
