Ok China, 1944-54 aluminum :( silver drought continues

Hello streakert,
Your coin is from Taiwan. The obverse shows the Chinese leader Sun Yat-Sen while the reverse has an outline of the island. There are differences in diameters and metals when they were made from 1949 to about 1981. Generally speaking, they aren't worth much if made of aluminum or brass. One issue, the 1949 5 Chiao was silver and catalogs about $2-7. I remember the little aluminum 1 Chiao coins were plentiful when I was a kid, because they were offered as premiums by certain cereal brands.
Good Luck,
Phil

Ha-Ha! I see you already found out what your coin is.
