I found this today washed up on the shore when I was digging clams here in Maine .

any idea what those black characters say ? The rope is wicked tight on it so I can't move the ball to get a better pic (maybe when it dries out)

the other side is marked STY 300 - with some funky symbols above it .

the ball is made of hard plastic and is bigger than a basketball . Strange how it ended up here .

Lived in Japan and they use the same bumpers as us.

Hi. I know its been a few years since you wrote this amd i just joined up so I could write to let you know i have one of these floats also! Im in Australia! Did you ever find out any info on it?

i have one too..found in Washington state...very much Japanese, a fishing float, and not incredibly old.
