jasper core?

i picked this up just as a piece of jasper core stone but that point is interesting. It is clearly tapered on 4 sides to a sharp point and...yes...of course...it fits nice in my hand. so is it anything more than a core?

Looks like it has way too many cracks in it to make arrowheads. That's not to say someone didn't give it a try though.
 
not cracks, those are seams or veins of quartz. a lot of my jasper points have these colorful lines.
 
Could of been used as a awl or graver if they wanted to. Nice material Im sure they wouldn't of let it go to waste. I find tools of flint and sometimes cant figure out how it would of been used but they are worked. I call them worked flint.
