Same here. I have heard of several stories or tales of him using local caves in ark and Missouri but who knows. Supposedly my uncle has a cave with a set of double j's on his property he wants me to check out with detector

I think Frank and Jesse spent it pretty much as soon as they got it.

i say it may still be hid in some parts , some spent some given to the poor some lost in time , some forgotten

Talking to his Great grand daughter she said she tried to put the family tree together and lot of the family didnt want any part of it She thought is was because his reputation but come to find out some of them were living off some his money

Could Be... Frank probly gathered up all he could, like what the local
folks witnessed in S/W Oklahoma. Always wondered, if they spent it,
lost, and gave some away, till there was none left, why would he
move down there. What did he do with it, if he did recover some,
as the folks said, that knew of his work there. Maybe he took it
back to Missouri with him. Plenty of caves, he and Jesse would
have known there, not too far from the farm to keep watch.

TN. in a small cave.

Supposedly a place in Oklahoma has caved on the property and a pair of sisters owns it and has double j's etched in rock and a GPR unit was ran over ground and located a small cache

DO IT! HH! Good Luck!

I am going to. I've never been to those caves but he has a few more with dates around 1870-1900 in there

Which one, near Nashville...

I don't know what you mean by "near Nashville..." but as the crow flies 50-60 miles or less. "Which one"... it's an undocumented cave. Large/long post and many photos on my cave thread.

Was guessing W. of Murfreesboro, have cousins
talk about Mtn. caves, lots of bats, will ck. your
thread out, Thanks.

Some say it's in Arkansas some say Missouri and halfway across the U.S. What do you believe?

It was not his gold. He did not steal it for himself nor did he spend anymore than the share which was actually a meager amount allotted to him to survive on. The bulk of his fortune was turned over in between robberies to the k.G.C./ O.A.K. coffer and hidden by those in charge. if he was on the run he would bury it himself according to pre-planned guidelines laid out for him to follow in the field. He was not a robber by trade, but by duty to his country and fellow Rebel. Most of the gold he took was turned over to a banker friend who laundered it through his bank and reinvested it in above the table K.G.C. / O.A.K. money making schemes that included oil wells and gold and silver mines. I personally believe that any gold buried by J.W.J. for himself would be a quart jar size cache and no larger and most likely hidden in a state where he had committed no robberies.

Just my two cents, L.C.

AGREE!

I remember a few years ago they had a show on the History Channel where they were searching a specific site for JJ caches. They found a jar of coins that had dates on them a few years after he died. They found a spot with ground perpetrating radar that showed something curious and started to dig. But by the end of the show they said they had to stop the digging because of the weather. I never heard anything after that. Anyone remember that?

One of my favorite documentaries on Jesse James from the History Channel, "Jesse James: Legend, Outlaw, Terrorist"
