I found this detecting a very old homestead. I was unable to find any information online. A friend thought that the elephant represented the republican party. Anyone find something like this???

Thanks in advance.

Nice one! The elephant pictorial was typically used on saloon tokens. The 2½¢ denomination typically was used on billiard hall tokens. I don't find this one listed on tokencatalog.com so would encourage you to post it there. I'll do some more sleuthing to try to find Bolinger, but a hint would help - in what county did you find it? That would be a good starting point in researching it.

Thank you idahotokens! It was found in Vinton county, but very close to Hocking & Athens counties.

I'll post this on tokencatalog.com later today (Tuesday).

Very nice. I like all the old tokens.
