It looks like it might be the old John Deere machinery logo probably off a plow. Heres a picture of the old type deer but off a watch fob. Hope it helps.

Nice. No idea on the age, but Deere made horse-drawn plows long before they got into tractors. Might be worth hunting down at a "specilized" site line www.yesterdaystractors.com in the John Deere section.

I'm a Ford man, myself. ;)

The pin I have must have been made for a hat as it is curved at about the right contour.
