another intresting Berks County place to detect
JOHN SCHILDT MURDER HOUSE (Alsace Twp., Berks County) In 1812, John Schildt was waiting on a priest to stop by to give him Communion. The padre didn't show for some reason, and Schildt went wild. He hacked his mom and dad to death, threw the family dog in the oven, and chased his brother through the woods with his ax. The DA called him a "demonaic", and he was hung the next year. So he haunts the house, right? No? Then his mom or dad spook the ol' homestead? No? The dog? Actually, the Schildt home is haunted gently by Elam Delp, who bought the house in 1938 and lived there until he died in the 1980s. He just likes to keep an eye on the place. The ghost hunters investigating the place found him a perfect host, waiting for them in the kitchen.
